The Carlyle Group is a Washington-DC based global asset management firm, which operates in private equity, real estate, market strategies and fund of funds. Carlyle is regularly ranked in the top 3 largest private equity funds globally. The European office was opened in 1997.

Investment Strategy

- Carlyle operates a pan-European private equity fund, which originates, strcutures and acts as lead equity investor in highly focused industry groups

- In addition to sponsoring existing management teams, Carlyle also actively pursues strategic joint purchases with indsutrial buyers and facilitates family buyouts

- Whilst its investment thesis is generalist, Carlyle has extensive experience in the aerospace, IT, defence, healthcare, consumer and retail, TMT, industrials, energy and power, real estate, automotive and transportation sectors.
