Kent Invest is the University of Kent's investment society. Society members meet to pitch stocks, discuss macro-economics and learn about different styles of investing. We run a virtual portfolio which is composed of stocks pitched by teams of 10 or so members every week. This allows members of all abilities to help research and discover worthwhile investments. They also learn how to pitch to a large audience and how to perform fundamental analysis. This is then put into practice in Trading Events which we hold throughout the year giving members a chance to employ their skills and compete against other members of the society. The aim of the society is to prepare our members for future employment in the financial industry. Many of our alumni have now joined some of the biggest and most successful financial institutions in the world and they help current members by giving advice and insight into the industries they work in. We hope that in the future we can grow our young society and that our members will gain valuable skills by participating in our activities
