Main responsibilities

As an Investment Banking Trainee you will work directly with the M&M Corporate Finance team to support and participate in their advisory operations.
You will be assisting in the origination and execution of M&A transactions across the metals and mining sector and across relevant geographies. Key responsibilities will include:
Performing in-depth research of potential targets, markets and sector trends
Assisting in the preparation of thorough strategic and financial analyses including valuations of assets and companies utilising DCF, multiples and other methodologies
Participation in marketing efforts, including assisting in the preparation of client presentations and pitches
Assisting with the running of transactions including day to day project management, managing information flow, deal memoranda and client presentations
Managing and working efficiently alongside other product teams
Personal abilities &
Technical skills

Highly motivated, self-driven individual who can operate in a fast pasted environment
Meticulous, with excellent attention to detail
Articulate, with excellent communications skills, both written and oral
Strong technical and analytical skills with an extremely good command of MS Office, in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Ideally an active interest in the M&M sector
Must have the ability to work well in both team and individual settings and coordinate work products with global teams based in London, Europe, Asia Pacific and North America
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education
Graduate of a top university in any discipline with a minimum 2:1
Past experience
None required, however previous internships or experience in Corporate Finance would be an advantage
Languages
English essential, both written and oral
Fluency in another language (in particular Russian) would be looked upon favourably
Technical skills
Very good command of MS Office – in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Strong financial acumen and understanding, in particular of key corporate finance concepts
Personal abilities
The position requires a confident person who is a self-starter; highly motivated and reliable, strong team spirit, well organized and equipped with excellent attention to detail
