Department Overview

Our Corporate Finance EMEA Function is responsible for bringing to our clients strategic solutions on mergers and acquisitions, primary equity capital markets transactions and balance sheet restructuring, combining expertise across 9 sector groups with a focused international approach.

The CF team in London primarily serves the EMEA region, whereby Execution Group team members are requested to work on situations in various regions, ranging from our core Domestic markets (France, Belgium, Italy), other European countries (Spain, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, etc.), Middle Eastern countries, and African countries (mainly South Africa and Northern Africa).

Key Responsibilities

As a Corporate Finance EMEA Analyst you will be contributing to the entire M&A process, from marketing through to execution. You can expect exposure to a wide range of clients and projects, developing your knowledge through your day-to-day work as well as via specific training. You will also be supporting on cross-border transactions our Corporate Finance team covering Domestic Markets (France, Belgium, Italy), as well as other European, Middle Eastern and African countries. Your specific responsibilities will include:

- Performing accurate financial analysis and valuations by developing quantitative models (Discounted Cash Flows, Multiples, Mergers and LBO)
- Performing background industry and company research, synthesising information from diverse sources
- Preparing presentations and information within the origination and execution framework for M&A and or Equity Capital Market transactions
- Helping origination and execution of M&A and capital markets transactions
- Actively participating in the transaction process, making sure it meets our deadlines and our quality standards.
- Working in close partnership with locally based colleagues & M&A teams on EMEA-wide mandates.

Skills and Experience

- A strong academic record from a top tier university or the equivalent; An engineering background, combined with a Master in Economics or Finance is preferred
- Proven M&A intern experience with a top tier investment bank
- Previous internship or work experience related to financial advisory or experience in Investment Banking / Corporate Finance, experiences with a Big Four Company in the field of Mergers and Acquisitions, or similar front office environment
- Demonstrable track record of cross border M&A transactions
- Thorough understanding and experience in BNP Paribas Domestic Markets (France, Belgium or Italy) as well as in European countries, Middle Eastern and African Markets
- Excellent quantitative, modelling and analytical skills
- Modelling and valuation experience including integrated projection models, comparable companies, comparable transactions, DCF, LBO models
- Analytical mind-set and commercial knowledge of capital markets
- Fluent in English. Additional Central and Eastern European languages (particularly French) and Middle Eastern languages (particularly Arabic) also preferred.
