Position Summary
• The analyst/associate will be responsible for researching, writing and supporting the M&A Centre of Excellence.
• Exposure will also be gained to origination and execution support of public and private mergers, acquisitions and disposals across all industry sectors together with other bankers from the M&A team, as well as colleagues from industry, country and other product teams.

Key responsibilities
As an Analyst/Associate developing the M&A centre of excellence, your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Keeping abreast of key market developments and establishing knowledge of the latest developments in the structuring and execution of M&A transactions
o Key topics/areas of focus: Inversions (impact of new rules), Public offers, Defence, Activism, Break-fee and reverse break & regulatory fees, Post-offer squeeze-out mechanisms, Treatment of convertibles in public offers, walk-away rights, Reverse take-overs, Dual-listed stock structures and JV governance and exit mechanism
• Working with J.P. Morgan sector and country IB teams
• Drafting presentation materials, Board materials, Memorandums, and other presentation materials for use in M&A transactions or strategic client dialogue
• Working alongside industry teams to build complex financial models and complete valuation and analytical exercises
Qualifications
The work is fast-paced, demanding and intellectually stimulating. We look for candidates with the following:
• Outstanding financial analysis and modelling skills
• Strong interest in and focus on M&A structuring
• Strong academic background
• Solid communication and project management skills
• In-depth understanding of the M&A product s is preferable (can be enhanced and further built via training)
• Strong team player
• Proficient in MS office applications
