Business: Private Equity Fund of Funds, including primary fund investing, direct co-investment, and secondaries. Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners (AIP) is a leading global alternatives fund of funds manager with an extensive and strong track record, a global investment scope, and assets under management of over $35 billion. The team builds and manages portfolios consisting of primary funds, co-investments, and secondary purchases of limited partnership interests.
AIP’s investment expertise and activities cover the full spectrum of private equity, including venture capital, growth equity, buyouts, distressed and other special situations. Investment professionals at the Analyst level work closely with principals and portfolio managers on 3-4 person deal teams and are responsible for business and market analysis, asset valuation assessment, modelling and development of financial projections, a range of additional quantitative and qualitative analyses, and portfolio monitoring.
Qualifications
Qualifications - External
- High-calibre graduate with a degree (or equivalent) from a top institution.
- Relevant work experience (prior experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or equity research preferred).
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal English; an additional language is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Excel.
- High level of interest in investing and in the global macroeconomic environment.
- An individual who has strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, who is intellectually curious, insightful, adaptable, detail oriented and, a team player, with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
