3i

Founded in 1945, 3i is one of the oldest private equity firm in the world, initially founded by the Bank of England and major British banks to provide funding for small to medium entreprises. In 1994 the firm listed on the London stock exchange. Headquartered in London but with global offices, 3i focuses on private equity, infrastructure and debt management.

Investment Strategy

- 3i actively invests across a wide range of sectors, with specialist global teams in Industrials & Energy, TMT, Business and Financial Services, Healthcare and Consumer.

- Invests in businesses with an EV range of €100m and €1bn in both Buyout and Growth Capital opportunities across Europe, Asia and the Americas

- When financing Buyouts, 3i typically take a majority equity position and the capital is used both to purchase the company from its existing owners as well as to fund the business’s development.
