Position Summary
• J.P. Morgan’s FIG Iberia Team is part of the EMEA Financial Institutions Group (FIG). The team is responsible for the origination and execution of public and private M&A and capital markets transactions involving corporate, financial sponsor and government clients in Iberia.
• This is an opportunity for an Associate to join the EMEA Financial Institutions Group focusing on Iberia. Origination and execution of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and capital markets transactions across banking, insurance, asset management and specialty finance client base within EMEA, focused on clients within Iberia.

Key responsibilities
• Completion of large and complex valuation and analytical exercises
• Support the preparation of presentation books, management presentations, Board materials, Memorandums, and other presentation materials for use in M&A and capital markets transactions or strategic client dialogue
• Transaction execution: support due diligence, document preparation, negotiation etc and liaising with relevant counterpart at the client/other advisers (accounting, legal, etc)
• Keeping abreast of key market developments and establishing knowledge of the target client base and relevant market dynamics
• Training, coaching and mentoring of junior colleagues

Qualifications
Essential skills:

The work is fast-paced, demanding and intellectually stimulating. We look for candidates with the following:
• Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills
• Outstanding financial analysis and modeling skills
• Experience of marketing and execution of M&A deals
• Solid communication and project management skills
• In-depth understanding of investment banking products (can be enhanced and further built via training)
• Experience in dealing with clients and other transactional advisers (can be enhanced and further built via training)
• Strong team player
• Proficient in MS office applications, knowledge of Bloomberg preferred
