Job Description Job Background/context:
Citi Research is a market leading team comprising more than 300 research analysts in over 20 locations worldwide. Citi Research covers more than 3,000 companies, or more than 90 percent of the capitalization of the major global indices, and provides macro and quantitative analysis of global markets and sector trends. Combined with Citi’s exceptional sales and trading capabilities, the core focus of the group is to help clients in their investment process by providing value-added, independent, insightful analysis. In EMEA, Citi Research covers 830 stocks and has a presence in a number of markets, including the UK, Italy, South Africa, Poland and Russia. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for supporting coverage which is led by other members of the team, helping to develop research that explains key trends in the industry. The person is expected to build out lead coverage and obtain client recognition in the sector with time. The person will be expected to market ideas and products to Citi’s equity sales & trading platform and to European and US institutional clients.
Qualifications
Person Specification Knowledge/Experience: Proven track relevant financial services and/or specific industry experience. We are particularly interested in candidates with prior experience in the Oil & Gas sector, with skills around financial modeling of oil and gas assets under different fiscal regimes, and/or experience of the investment decision process in buy-side or sell-side investment firms. Skills: • Clear knowledge of Citi and our clients and their investment processes. • A sound grasp of financial analysis, modeling and valuation techniques. • Excellent written and presentation skills. • An established track record of producing research on the stocks requiring coverage. • A proven ability to leverage research via an in-house sales force and trading desk. • An understanding of stock market sentiment and how to harness this in an investment context. • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style. • Demonstrates strong relationships with C-level management at companies requiring coverage. • A track record of consistently producing outstanding results under pressure. Qualifications: ACA/MBA/CFA preferable Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience.
