Macquarie Capital’s Real Estate team is looking to add an Analyst to its team in London.

Macquarie Group is a global provider of banking, financial advisory, investment and fund management services. Macquarie Capital division of Macquarie Group focuses on M&A, debt and equity capital markets, and principal investments.

The Europe Real Estate team provides on the ground expertise and integrated solutions to clients. Services include private and public M&A, public and private capital raisings, principal investments restructurings and recapitalisations.

Macquarie Capital has advised on 535 real estate transactions to the total value of £130bn+ since 2003. Services to clients include private and public M&A, public and private capital raisings, restructurings and recapitalisations. Over that period the Real Estate team has completed private equity real estate transactions valued at over £27bn, connecting capital from more than 500 investors to specialist sponsors.

Macquarie Capital’s Real Estate team in Europe have been extremely active and are looking to grow the team. The role will provide the rare opportunity to work on live transactions both as an advisor and also a principal investor.

Recent transactions include:

£40m principal lending to FizzyLiving in growing its PRS portfolio, before acting as financial adviser and sole equity arranger raising £200m of equity from Silver Arrow, an ADIA owned entity
Adviser to HOCHTIEF AG on the disposal of its 50% interest in Aurelis Real Estate
Financial adviser to a consortium of Greystar on the acquisition of a £300m+ student accommodation portfolio out of Opal Property Group administration process
Adviser to Investa Office Fund on the €155m strategic disposal of its stake in the CBRE Dutch Office Fund
Financial adviser to APG and GRIP unit trust on the acquisition of a £349m residential portfolio owned by G:Res1
The successful candidate will have:

Outstanding academic record in a relevant discipline
0-2 years relevant experience (Corporate Finance, M&A, Fund / Asset Management)
Strong analytical / numerical skills
High commercial acumen
Solid verbal/ & written communication skills
Strong interest in the real estate sector
European language skills will be viewed favourably but are not a requirement for the role. Prior real estate experience is not a pre-requisite.
