Main responsibilities
As an Investment Banking Associate in the Power, Utilities and Infrastructure team you will work directly with Senior Bankers, coverage team and Corporate Finance teams across SG’s global platform. You will work to support both origination and execution across a range of products, in particular in M&A and ECM but also debt, hybrid debt, equity linked as well as capital structure related issues.
The Power, Utilities and Infrastructure Associate carries out a wide variety of tasks, including financial statement analysis, financial modelling, company and industry research, preparation of client presentations, deal memoranda, etc, both in the context of the origination and execution of transactions:
Manage significant modules of Corporate Finance projects under supervision but independently with the support of analysts and interns
Help to prepare M&A and ECM client pitches
Help to prepare cross-product client pitches
Multi criteria company valuations using among others market multiples, M&A multiples and the DCF & DDM methods
Target analysis and / or buyer’s acquisition capacity analysis
Keep up to date about M&A, equity and debt related issues as well as sector trends and dynamics
In addition to fluency in English, proficiency in one other European language would be a positive.
Previous experience in the Power, Utilities and Infrastructure space is preferable.

Graduate of a top university in any discipline with a minimum 2 :1
Experience as an Analyst or Associate in Corporate Finance, preferably with a Bank or a Top Tier Boutique with experience in Power and Utilities.
The position requires a self-confident person who is a self-starter; highly motivated and reliable, with strong team spirit, well organized with good attention to detail
The ideal candidate is able to supervise junior colleagues in building complex financial models and has strong accounting and Corporate Finance knowledge
Ability to efficiently manage analysts and interns and to work independently
Strong written and oral communication skills
Fluency in English is essential
Strong technical / analytical skills plus very good command of MS Office
Good command of Bloomberg and Datastream
