Summary
Servicing the Oil & Gas M&A team in the London platform as a Trainee for a period of 11 months.
Main responsibilities
As an Investment Banking Intern you will work directly with the oil and gas corporate finance team to support them in their daily tasks
You will work to support both origination and execution in M&A, equities and other capital raising/structure assignments
The Investment Banking Intern carries out a wide variety of tasks, including financial statement analysis, financial modelling, company and industry research, and preparation of client presentations, deal memoranda etc, both in the context of the origination and execution of transactions
Daily tasks will be to assist oil and gas corporate finance team, including:
Helping to prepare M&A and ECM client pitches
Carrying out company and industry analyses and preparing company and industry profiles
Carrying out analysis of M&A activity and identifying trends and analysing metrics
Company valuations using market multiples, M&A multiples and the DCF method
Keeping up to date in relation to M&A, equity capital markets and the oil and gas sector
Assisting the oil and gas corporate finance team in any other projects and assignments

Technical skills
The position requires a self-confident person who is a quick learner and self-starter
Extremely motivated and reliable individual with strong team spirit
A very well organized person with good attention to detail
Strong written and oral communication skills
Bachelor or Master’s degree
Fluency in English is essential
Strong technical and analytical skills with an extremely good command of MS Office, in particular Excel and PowerPoint
Ideally an active interest in the oil and gas sector
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education
Graduate of a top university in any discipline with a minimum 2:1
Past experience
None required, however previous internships or experience in Corporate Finance would be an advantage
Languages
Fluent English
Other languages would be an advantage but not a requirement
Technical skills
Very good command of MS Office – in particular Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge and interest in finance
