The London Infrastructure and Utilities team is the leader in the industry and has been involved in a number of historic transactions such as the £8bn Thames Water acquisition, £350m Peterborough Hospital PFI and more recently closing the Offshore Transmission - Walney I, Walney II, Sheringham Shoal and London Array Projects and €3.0bn acquisition of Open Grid Networks.
Macquarie Capital has also received numerous awards in the infrastructure sector, including the Finance Excellence Award by Infrastructure Partnership Australia in April 2012 and Global Infrastructure deal of the year from Infrastructure Investor in March 2012. We were also awarded PPP Deal of the Year by Project Finance International in December 2011 and Infrastructure & Project Financing Deal of the Year (Americas) by FT Banker Awards in May 2011 for the $3bn Adelaide Hospital PPP.
The Role
Macquarie Capital is looking to add an Analyst with 1 to 2 years experience to its market-leading Infrastructure and Utilities team in London. The role would include a focus on acting as a principal on greenfield live high-profile infrastructure transactions across Europe.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Detailed analytical and numerical skills, including advanced skills in Excel and financial modelling
Exposure in financial advisory and structuring for different funding solutions (bank debt, bond…etc)
Excellent commercial judgement
Strong presentation skills, including Word and PowerPoint
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding academic results in a relevant discipline
A degree or experience in disciplines such as law or engineering will also be looked on favourably
European language skills will be viewed favourably but are not a requirement for the role. Macquarie is an equal opportunities employer
The successful candidate is expected to perform the following tasks:
Development and interpretation of project finance models, including use of VBA macros
Preparation of bid and transaction documentation and presentations
Production of written reports
Analysis of market dynamics for companies operating across the UK and Europe
Researching information for companies in the sector
