Business Unit Overview:

Job Purpose / Background:
The newly opened London office of Temasek is looking for experienced investment professionals to join the investment team at either the Associate (“A”) or Senior Associate (“SA”) level. The mix of hires / levels will depend on the strengths of the candidates that come through and their collective and complementary skill sets.
A / SA’s are an integral part of the investment team, participating in all aspects of the investment process, from initial screening and due diligence, through approval, to post-investment monitoring.
The candidates will be active participants in the London investment team and will have the opportunity to be involved in various investments such as:
1. Private equity investing (funds and co-investments);
2. Direct investing across sectors; and
3. Credit Investing (co-investments and direct investing)
The role will involve:
· Identifying and assessing investment opportunities in funds and companies spanning a wide range of industries and across capital structures;
· Performing deal evaluation, due diligence, industry / company analysis and financial modeling, supporting the London investment team;
· Monitoring market trends and closely tracking existing portfolio assets to support investment / divestment making decisions;
· Constantly developing and renewing industry / sector knowledge as well as macro and regulatory changes;
· Establishing and cultivating relationships with companies, corporate partners and other relevant institutions.
Qualifications & Experience:
The ideal candidate(s) should have:
· Strong academic credentials;
· Prior work experience within a top-tier private equity, investment bank, corporate finance, M&A or research firm;
· Strong analytical insight and spreadsheet modeling skills, as well as a strong understanding of financial statements to an intermediate level;
· Familiar with use of electronic data sources (e.g. Bloomberg, Factiva, etc);
· Passion for and a prior understanding of at least one of: European private equity market / credit / sector teams;
· Desire to develop / maintain relationships with intermediaries and private equity funds;
· Self-starter with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and to work independently; and
· Good communication, interpersonal & team skills – Comfortable with consensus decision-making and working in a cross-border, multi-cultural team-based environment;
