Long-Short Analyst – European Markets (London)

The D. E. Shaw group seeks an analyst to join its Long/Short European strategy to support fundamental investing.  The analyst will be responsible for researching, analysing and implementing new investment ideas. He/she will conduct financial and economic analyses of equity-linked investments, and submit these analyses to senior management for consideration. These analyses will involve complex written reports describing the company’s products, services, structure, philosophy and history and will assess each company’s assets, liability, stock performance, growth and potential risk. Successful applicants will have 3-6 years of experience at an investment bank, private equity firm, alternative asset manager, or long-only manager. Previous experience investing in European equities is preferred, and a passion for investing as well as a demonstrated aptitude for substantial financial analysis is essential.  The ideal candidate will have a strong record of academic and professional achievement as well as excellent communication skills.
