RSM is looking for intelligent and motivated placement students to join our corporate finance advisory team.

We have multiple vacancies available across our corporate finance national hubs and are looking to recruit into both our Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and Due Diligence (DD) teams. You will be given the opportunity to state your geographic preference by selecting a particular office and we will do our best to accommodate this. Similarly, based upon our assessment of where your strengths lie, we shall allocate you to either our M&A or DD team.

Job descriptions

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

The M&A team specialise in advising clients on business disposals, acquisitions, raising development capital and management buy-out and buy-in transactions typically in the £10m to £100m range. This position is fast paced and gives you the opportunity to get heavily involved in targeting and researching new and existing clients, as well as assisting project teams on the day-to-day execution of transaction from deal origination, including preparation of documents, marketing the business, negotiation and project managing a transaction through to completion. You will work with a variety of businesses and entrepreneurs from a broad range of industries and sectors.

Due Diligence (DD)

The DD team specialise in providing financial due diligence projects to a variety of clients from a broad range of industries and sectors including private equity, entrepreneurs, large corporates and banks looking to acquire, invest in or fund a variety of businesses. Deal values are typically in the £5m to £100m range. You will support live due diligence projects and learn what makes a business successful and attractive to acquirers/investors and learn about possible funding options for companies looking to grow. You will also become involved in regional and national marketing activities in order to raise the profile of our team in the market and assist with deal origination.

Students will be provided with training relevant to their role, which may include training courses on basic accounting and reading financial statements, and how to use the corporate finance tools that RSM uses. Continual on the job training will also be provided throughout the placement.

Both teams are looking for candidates with a can-do attitude who are prepared to work hard and take on high levels of responsibility when necessary. Due to the client facing nature of this role, we will also be looking for someone who is well presented and able to deal with a range of people in a confident and professional manner.

Those short-listed will be invited to complete aptitude tests prior to attending an interview and case study exercise.  This is an opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading mid-market corporate finance teams.
