Satya Capital is looking for an Investment Associate to join the team with a focus on identifying and analysing companies, providing M&A transaction support, identifying new opportunities and monitoring investments. A significant proportion of their time will be spent in support of developing S2 Africa which is a unique opportunity to be a part of the business development of a rapidly expanding retail platform.
The Investment Associate’s specific areas of responsibility will include designing, creating and analysing financial models to evaluate potential and existing investments and commercial/financing opportunities. S/he will be tasked with preparing investment papers/memoranda and carrying out detailed research and analysis to assist in new investment origination/execution.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for building internal and external networks, actively working with portfolio companies as part of a continued asset management/operational approach (particularly with the new retail venture, S2 Africa). S/he will undertake financial analysis (requiring excellent excel modelling skills), preparation of Investment Committee and Board presentations, as well as playing a key supporting role in transaction execution.

Criteria for selection
Applicants must have experience in a corporate finance advisory position in a top investment bank.
Applicants must have a strong academic record to undergraduate degree level or higher.
Further, applicants must possess commercial understanding of businesses operating in frontier markets and exceptional interpersonal skills to deal with senior executives. Applicants must also have the ability to be self-driven and flexible with high degree of commitment to achieve team goals.
Applicants, conversant with French, Portuguese, Arabic and/or Amharic will be preferred as well as those with insight into retail and particular passion/interest in the African investment market.
