Morgan Stanley has a long and successful history of private equity investing. Since 1985, Morgan Stanley has invested almost $7 billion in private equity transactions on a global basis.
Morgan Stanley Private Equity (MSPE) is the Firm’s primary business for investing in middle-market private equity transactions with offices in London and New York. MSPE is a long-term, operationally focused investor with a demonstrable track record of partnering with entrepreneurs and helping to institutionalise and professionalise mid-market growth companies. Our team of investment professionals brings significant expertise in structuring complex financial transactions in core industries including Business Services, Consumer & Retail, Industrials and Healthcare.
MSPE are now looking to add an Investment Analyst to the team in London, who will work on the origination and execution of investment opportunities for the fund in Western Europe predominantly in the UK, Germany, the Benelux and Scandinavia.
Qualifications
Responsibilities will include:
- Financial modelling and valuation.
- Preparing investment appraisal presentations.
- Assisting in company due diligence.
- Executing background analyses for investment theses.
- Assisting in identifying, hiring and managing external advisors.
- Assessing and executing new transactions.
- Assisting other team members to measure and monitor the performance of portfolio companies, as well as helping to implement operational changes.
- Assisting to prepare materials for meetings with potential investors.
Skills required:
- Previous experience in Investment Banking (M&A, Leveraged Finance) from a tier one investment bank or advisory boutique.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills as well as commercial acumen.
- High energy and motivation to work on the buyside.
- Proactive, with an ability to take on a high degree of responsibility and to execute critical work streams with limited supervision.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and a strong team ethic that will enable the candidate to build and maintain a broad network within the global MSPE team as well as with advisors, consultants, industry experts and partners.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages considered a plus.
- All-round M&A experience (origination, execution, due diligence, financing) is a plus.
- Sector experience (Business Services, Consumer & Retail, Industrials and Healthcare) is beneficial.
- Degree educated (or equivalent) with superior academic record.
