Public Market Investments
The Public Markets include equities, fixed income, alternative investments and money market instruments.
Public Equity (EQ)
The Public Equity (EQ) department pursues both active and passive management strategies in equity investing. We invest globally and are organised along product groups specialising in different total return, relative return, quantitative and indexation strategies.
The European equities team within the relative return public markets group are looking for a portfolio manager/analyst who can manage a portfolio of equities relative to a benchmark and generate investment ideas for the team managed best ideas portfolio.
Responsibilities
The candidate will be expected to outperform the market on an individual basis, contribute a meaningful amount of value add to the best ideas team portfolio and communicate effectively for the benefit of other team members. Within a fundamentally based style agnostic team, the successful candidate will:
•Understand the top down investment environment.
•Demonstrate sector insights and is able to source single stock investment ideas in the context of their coverage.
•Perform a level of due diligence substantial enough to convey the key drivers of an investment case to other team members.
•Contribute to the broader portfolio construction process with views effectively.
Requirements
•Around 3 to 12 years’ experience in equities research or investment management on the buy side (long-only or hedge fund), although we will also consider exceptional individuals from sell side.
•Excellent academic background.
•Strong fundamental, research-oriented analytical skills.
•Demonstrated market knowledge and a strong interest in investing.
•Clear investment thought process with excellent communication skills.
•Ability to work in a small team environment where collaboration is essential.
