B.        ABOUT THE ROLE – PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will be based in Central London though the candidate will also gain exposure to a variety of European countries (across the UK and Continental Europe) and sectors (office, retail, industrial, logistics, residential, self storage, hotels, and other). The role will include the following:
·      Support senior team members in investing in real estate opportunities (across the various equity and debt mandates and multiple jurisdictions); support will span from initial deal analysis, through to full transaction underwriting, investment committee papers, due diligence, and closing.
·      Construction / management of financial models, market research, detailed property assessment / underwrite, review of due diligence reports, preparation of deal memorandums for internal and external investment committees, implementing and maintaining tax efficient corporate ownership structures, and communication with external parties (to include advisors, borrowers, lenders, partners, etc); role to also include involvement in ongoing fund management (working with portfolio managers) as well as ad hoc financial analysis for the capital markets team.

C.        ABOUT YOU

·      Bachelors degree required with concentrations in Mathematics, Economics, Finance or Statistics
·      Education to include a masters level degree, and specifically in real estate or corporate finance
·      Relevant work experience in direct real estate investment and/or real estate finance within the European market, including substantially in the UK
·      Highly numerate with excellent analytical skills including property underwriting, understanding of capital structures, real estate junior financing, corporate financial statements analysis and taxation
·      High level of technical skills which must include Excel cashflow modelling with ability to create models from scratch for direct, preferred equity, mezzanine, joint venture and/or corporate investment deals, including sensitivity analysis, VBA macro writing, PowerPoint presentation production, Argus / Circle training, proficient in using Word to prepare investment committee memos; formal Excel training module / course covering cashflow modelling also preferred
·      Must have demonstrated good verbal and written skills
·      Must have demonstrated inter-personal skills to deal professionally, with credibility, integrity and confidently with senior executives
·      Must have a robust character to deal with demanding but fair-minded colleagues and partners
·      Must be a team player with professional work attitude, sense of humour and high business ethics principles
